My new book was published a few days ago in a small limited edition. The text was contributed by Dr. Naško Križnar, designed by Nina Šturm, printed at the LUart printing house in Ribnica, and published by Odontos d.o.o..// Moja nova knjiga je izšla pred nekaj dnevi, v mali omejeni nakladi. Tekst je prispeval dr. Naško Križnar, oblikovala jo je Nina Šturm, tiskala se je v ribniški tiskarni LUart, izid pa je omogočil Odontos d.o.o..

“… In Miniatures, Žiga Koritnik presents himself as an author who understands and practices photography in a broad sense. He is interested in both mimetic and non-mimetic photographic creation. A realistically depicted landscape or a section thereof is recognizable in detail in one photograph, A realistically depicted landscape or a section thereof is recognizable in detail in one photograph, while in another photograph, a part of the surrounding space is depicted as an abstract structure, a network of lines and patterns. Some of Koritnik’s miniatures remind me of the methodology of Jay Maisel, an American photographer, especially with his joy of seeing and his claim that photography is “poetry of the obvious.” Or of Toshia Shibata’s thought: “It doesn’t matter if someone else has already painted the same motif; what matters to us is to show how we see it.” …”

“… Žiga Koritnik se v Miniaturah predstavi kot avtor, ki fotografijo razume in prakticira vširokem zamahu. Zanima ga tako mimetično fotografsko ustvarjanje kot tudi nemimetično. Realistično prikazana pokrajina ali njen izsek sta na eni fotografiji prepoznavna do detajlov,
na drugi fotografiji pa je iz okoliškega prostora prikazan del, ki ga vidimo kot abstraktno strukturo, mrežo, črte in vzorce. Nekatere Koritnikove miniature me spominjajo na metodologijo Jaya Maisela, ameriškega fotografa, predvsem z njegovim veseljem do gledanja (»joy of seeing«) in reklom, da je fotografija »poezija očitnega«. Ali pa na misel Toshia Shibate: »Ni pomembno, ali je že nekdo drug slikal isti motiv; za nas je pomembno, da pokažemo, kako ga mi vidimo.«…”
