Organized by Centro D’Arte, which puts on concerts that I really enjoy and find appealing, Mats Gustafsson’s special project took place on May 22 and 23 in the magical Sala Dei Giganti in Padua, Italy. Over two evenings, we had the opportunity to hear Zoe Pia with Mats Gustafsson (the “Rite” project), Cosmic Ear (with Christer Bothén – donso n’goni, bass clarinet, piano; Mats Gustafsson – saxophone, electronics; Goran Kajfeš – trumpet; Johan Berthling – double bass; Juan Romero – percussion; a wonderful solo concert by Christer Bothén and the Fire! trio with Mats Gustafsson, Johan Berthling, and the band’s new addition, Mario Portugal on drums. Unforgettable experience, like all the concerts I’ve seen in Padua so far.
Not just because I celebrated there my birthday, too. 😉
